The dog is funny, curious, and just so adorable. I would recommend this book for all ages. This book is absolutely outstanding. The girl cares for the dog so much and I just liked how she was never hurtful to the dog and treated him well. I was sucked in to the book the whole time and did not want to put it down.I just love how the girl is so kind to the dog. It warmed my heart.
Instead she brings home Winn-Dixie- a big scruffy stray dog who caused trouble right in the middle of the vegetable isle of the Winn-Dixie supermarket- (hence Opal's impromptu naming of the dog).Because of Winn Dixie- is a perfect title for this brief book, because it's because of Winn-Dixie that so many things turn out okay for motherless Opal- from the making of friends in the new town they just moved too- eclectic though they may be- to the reason she and her father finally address the issue of the runaway woman who left a hole in both their lives. 10 yr old Opal is sent to the grocery store by her father, the preacher, to pick up rice, two tomatoes and a box of mac N cheese.
It was a really good book and I couldn't wait to hear the ending (by my 8 year old daughter).
India becomes great friends with the old lady, Gloria.I really like this book because India is always trying to do the right thing and is really friendly to others. Right when India puts the leash on, Winn-Dixie runs away. He runs to an old woman's house. Because of Winn-Dixie is a really great book for 7-10 year olds. The rest of the book is yours to read. Everyone was yelling at the dog and tells them the dog is hers. It's about a girl named India Opal Buloni who finds a poor dog at a grocery store. She names the dog Winn-Dixie.India goes to the pet store to get a leash for Winn-Dixie.
It was in great condition and an enjoyable shopping experience. The order was processed quickly and I received it right on time.
